About the team you are joining
Air cargo provides essential capacity for the transportation of emergency and commercial goods. It also serves as a vital “lifeline” for airlines and other air cargo stakeholders, helping them maintain revenue levels and strengthen their cash position. IATA’s CargoIS (Cargo Intelligence Service) is the central hub for information services within the air cargo supply chain, delivering key data insights to IATA member airlines and industry stakeholders.
The Intern – CargoIS will report to the Assistant Director, Cargo Sales and Traffic BI. They will take part in an exciting project aimed at enhancing the CargoIS product suite and ensuring it maintains its market‑leading position. In this role, you will support product managers by communicating the product value proposition to clients through data extraction, analysis, and visualization. You will help build use cases, perform data transformations, and conduct data quality checks to showcase potential product improvements.
Additionally, you will have opportunities to observe and participate in various product management activities. You will also assist the team by performing data testing across the CargoIS solution and its databases.
What your day would be like
Perform data extraction and analysis to build use cases in order to present the product value proposition.
Support the implementation of new data sources by performing testing and assisting entities submitting data in achieving data format, structure and content requirements.
Present the data analysis in a virtual manner in story telling fashion.
Support the communications to promote CargoIS to wider audience.
Observe and participate in product management activities
Perform additional duties as required.
We would love to hear from you if
Recent university graduate with a minimum of a bachelor's degree (within one year of graduation). A major in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Economics is considered an asset.
Passionate about the aviation industry with a strong interest in data. Experience with data analysis fundamentals, SQL, and Snowflake is an advantage.
Familiar with data visualization and analysis tools. Proficient in MS Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft 365 is an asset. Able to present data clearly and visually.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Detail-oriented with good pattern-recognition abilities.
A team player who can work under pressure. Curious and comfortable asking questions.
Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages are an asset.
